What has to be in it
A site that tells your story costs less than one that takes bookings, sells products or runs in three languages. Every function is real work: setting it up, testing it, teaching you to use it.
What a website costs
↓You won't find a price list here, because a website isn't a product off a shelf. What you will find is exactly what drives the price, so you can read any proposal, ours or someone else's, and see what you're actually paying for. After one call you get a fixed proposal with everything in it. And if you are just starting out, ask about our starter rate: for a genuinely new business the site is close to free, because we would rather grow with you than sell you something you cannot carry yet.
Where the price comes from
A site that tells your story costs less than one that takes bookings, sells products or runs in three languages. Every function is real work: setting it up, testing it, teaching you to use it.
Five pages or fifty. One location or six. A handful of products or a catalogue. Size doesn't change the design, it changes how long the building and the content take.
Texts, photos, filling the pages: someone has to do it. If you deliver them, you pay less. If we write and shoot them, you pay for that. Most projects land somewhere in between.
What moves the price
A ready-made theme is the cheapest start and looks like everyone else. A design of your own costs more and is the thing people remember. We build our own, which is why our proposals aren't the lowest.
Each page needs a structure, a text and a check. The first pages cost the most; after that it gets cheaper per page, because the design already exists.
Online booking, a shop, a quote form with uploads, a dealer locator, a member login. Each one is a piece of software that has to work on every phone and keep working after an update.
A second language is not a translate button. It is a full copy of every page, every form and every download, and it stays that way each time you change something.
Texts in your tone, photos of your own work, a product list that has to be imported. The cheapest route is you delivering it, the fastest is us making it.
Updates, backups, security and support are not part of the build, they're what keeps it alive. Ignore that and the saving disappears the first time something breaks. See maintenance and hosting.
Why our quotes hold
Booking, forms, reviews, cookie consent, e-mail and backups come from WPStack, the plugin suite we built ourselves. No stack of paid plugin licences renewing every year, no third-party tool that suddenly changes its pricing, and no surprise on your invoice that we can't explain.
See what's in WPStack→How you get a price
Twenty minutes about your business, what the site has to do and what you already have. No sales pitch, and if we're not the right fit we say so.
The next working day you get a proposal that lists every part: design, pages, functions, languages, content and training. One amount, and you can see what each part is for.
What's in the proposal is what you pay. If you want something extra halfway through, you get a price for it first and you decide.
The honest answers
Anything else? Ask us, we answer within a working day.
Because any figure here would be wrong for most readers. A one-page site for a trainer and a catalogue site in three languages are both websites. A price list would either scare off the first or mislead the second. One call is enough for us to give you a real figure.
In a twenty-minute call, yes, and usually within the first ten minutes. We'd rather say it to you with the context than print a number that gets read out of it.
Usually because they aren't for the same thing. Check what each includes: own design or a theme, who writes the texts, who fills the pages, how many languages, whether maintenance and hosting are in there, and who owns the logins afterwards.
Not always. For a starting business a small honest site beats waiting a year for a big one. It becomes a bad idea when it can't grow, when you can't update it, or when nobody maintains it and it breaks a year later.
Probably, yes. For a genuinely new business we work at a starter rate that is close to free: a small, honest site that does the one thing you need right now, built so it can grow later without starting over. We do it because a business that starts well usually comes back, and we would rather be there from day one. Ask on the call and we will tell you straight whether it applies to you.
Then we start with the part that earns: the pages that bring in calls and the one function you really need. The rest comes later, on the same site, without rebuilding.
The build and the upkeep are two different things. We quote them separately so you can see both, and you choose whether we keep it running. See maintenance and hosting.
You do, always. The domain, the hosting, the site and every login are in your name, whatever happens between us later.
